GISEYE Raster Converter
GISEYE Raster Converter application is designed for raster files conversion from one presentation format into another. The application enables to:
- Convert raster files from one type and format into another
- Change raster file name
- Cut out a segment from raster file
- Change raster scale
- Control the dynamic range and the number of raster output bands
- Assign output projection
- Assign georeference bounds
- Perform data batch processing
System requirements
- Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista or higher
- Intel Pentium-III processor or higher
- 128Mb of RAM
- Display mode 1024×768 TrueColor
Screen shot
Application dialog window contains a group of elements to specify input and output raster conversion parameters as well as the output information window indicating the conversion status. The upper left part of the dialog window has a group of elements specifying input raster files. The right part of the window contains a group of control elements to specify output raster file parameters. Output information window is in the bottom of the dialog window. The dialog window also has a set of function buttons to run the conversion and to save the operation results.
Software GUI description
Input files setup
Raster files for further conversion are put into Input Files list. To add a raster file to the Input Files list, press Add button and select the raster file from the required folder using the standard file selection dialog window.
To delete a raster file from the list, select the required raster file with the left mouse button and press Delete button.
Conversion output parameters setup
Output Files group of elements enables to specify the output parameters of raster files conversion.
To set up the output folder, where the raster file will be created in, it is required to use the button opening the standard folder selection dialog next to Folder list box, or enter the path manually in it. By default, the output folder corresponds to the folder where the input raster file is located in.
GISEYE Raster Converter dialog enables to change the output raster file name. To change the output raster file name, specify the new raster file name in the File Name field. This option is available if the list of input raster files contains only one raster file.
To change the format of raster file, select the required format from the drop-down Format list.
To change the raster file type, select the required type from the drop-down Data Type list. By default, the type of output raster file corresponds to the source raster type.
GISEYE Raster Converter dialog enables to cut a segment of raster file by specifying the coordinates of the angles of rectangle being cut out.
To specify the coordinates of the segment being cut out, check the Cut Segment box, then enter the respective coordinates of the angles in Min/Max fields. Rectangle coordinates are specified in one of the two coordinates systems: pixel – select Pixels or Lines in drop-down list, or rectangular – select X or Y in drop-down list.
Checking of Set Output Sizes checkbox allows changing the raster file scale. To set up the output raster scale, enter values in Width and Height fields, by first selecting the required measurement units. Output raster size can be specified in one of the two measurement units: in percents of width/height of the source raster file, or in pixels/lines. System of measurement units can be selected in the corresponding drop-down lists to the right of Width and Height fields.
Checking Data Range Scaling checkbox enables to change the range of linear contrasting for output raster files. In Min and Max fields of Input and Output control elements set up the limits of linear contrasting for input and output raster file respectively.
For multi-band raster files GISEYE Raster Converter dialog enables to specify the raster bands numbers, used during conversion. Check Output Bands checkbox to specify the raster bands, and then set up the numbers of raster files of interest separated by comma or by dash sign.
Errors may occur during the conversion. Skip Failures checkbox enables to override the program steps in case of errors during conversion.
To allow the program to suspend the erroneous raster file conversion, make sure that Skip Failures box is unchecked.
The checkbox should be checked, if it is required to continue the conversion of the erroneous raster file.
Raster files converter enables to reassign map boundaries of the raster. Check Assign Georeference Bounds checkbox to activate this option and specify in ULX/ULY, LRX/LRY fields the required coordinates of upper left and lower left corner of raster, respectively.
Assign Output Projection checkbox enables to reassign the projection, where the coordinates of raster file points are interpreted. Projection is specified using a standard control element of projection setup. Control element fields become available for the user for direct editing or selection of parameters from the drop-down list by clicking with the left mouse button on the corresponding parameter. With each left mouse click on the map projection control element title bar, the parameters of the user-defined projection will be toggled displaying PORJ4 or WRT lines, except for some projections that cannot be presented in these formats.
Control Button
To start conversion, press Run button located to the right of the Output Information field. The field will display the conversion status and will eventually show up the process termination message. During the conversion process the Run button indication will change to Stop allowing for suspension of the conversion process by the user.
To save the output data, press Save output button, located to the right of the Output Information field as well. The program will open the standard save file dialog.
GISEYE Raster Converter dialog can be closed using Close button to the right of the Output Information field or using the standard window close button in upper right corner of the dialog.
